ParkNet/AM

The reasons that motivate a company to use an access control system can be many, but they are often referable to the necessity of organizing the flows and the activities of the personnel. ParkNet/AM is our access control system that uses smartcard for the users’ information management and their authentication into the system.

The terminal is programmed for smartcard management, particularly for the management of chip cards in accordance to the ISO 7816 standard and cards with magnetic strip trace 1, 2, 3 in according to the ISO 7810 standard; there is also the possibility to use contactless cards, in accordance to the ISO 14443 RFID standard, which work at 13,56 MHz up to 10 cm away from the reading unit. It has also two relay outputs for the opening of the passages and the transmission of the commands to an external alarm system, two double balanced inputs and one input with Wiegand protocol to increase the flexibility and the possibility of use with other type of cards.

The terminal can embed an analog modem module, a TA (Terminal Adapter) for an ISDN connection or a GSM/GPRS module. There is also an Ethernet 100 Base TX or 100 Base FX interface for fiber connection, and an USB module that can be either master or slave; finally optically isolated inputs can read anti tamper switches.

The graphic interface of the entire system is well aware of all the aspects and of all the functions of the system, because is just through the graphical interface that the user must be able to interface himself to the system, interact with it and be involved in an active way.

Clearly only by a well thought-out interface it is possible to give to the user and to the operator an optimal access to all the functions, guarantee a precise internal organization of the system, offer an efficient service that can involve security and other activities; moreover thanks to the modular approach of the interface it is possible to adapt in an efficient and fast way the system in different areas in which it will be used. The development of the graphic interface requires the planning of all the activities that must be done through it and that, moreover, must be conduct in different, precise and important areas. Particularly in the access control system the estimated functions on each reader are:

• configuration and initialization of every terminal of the system;

• creation and management of the users personal data;

• creation and management of the reader groups;

• creation and management of the time codes;

• creation and management of the holiday groups;

• definition and assignation of the access rights;

• visualization and management of the alarms;

• visualization and management of reports and interesting system information;

• formulation and administration through the terminal of the management and control politics of the system.

The organization of the graphic interface and system cannot forget the limits imposed by the medium size display, so we have searched to guarantee a coherent access and usage contest and to make it at the same time very simple to use.

On every terminal, after the configuration phase is completed, the following informations are normally shown:

The identification logo can be personalized on request.

To access to the system the user must insert his own smartcard in the reader; it can be a magnetic strip card or a contact smartcard or a contactless smartcard; for this reason the image visualized in the primary page, used to prompt to the users about the need to insert their card to do every type of operation, is dynamically changed, showing a different card type every time.
