Datalogger is a complete terminal for data and measures acquisition, studied for integration on a local area network using Ethernet and the TCP/IP protocol; it has its own wall plug power supply and connects to the metering instruments via standard serial ports. It is solidly built in a cast aluminium case, using industrial grade components that assure a long durability and resistance even in high duty applications.
It has a 512 kbyte program memory usable like a normal disk and a 512 kbyte main RAM memory; on the Datalogger you can load normal DOS programs that thanks to an extended API for Borland C and Turbo Pascal can easily access all on board and optional peripherals.
A large data storage capacity is made available thanks to the front slot for a standard Compact Flash memory module, besides the internal flash disk; the data files are stored in a DOS compatible format, that can be accessed with a PC that has a CF interface.
A battery powered clock calendar and the capability to directly use our Digiclock radio interface, not to mention the compatibility with GPS sources, insure a perfect synchronization of the acquired data.
Dimensions: 32 mm height, 146 mm depth, 115 mm width
Power supply: 12 V 80 mA with an external wall plug power supply
External connections: dual RS-232-C serial interface for instruments’ connection, max speed 230400 bps; optionally expandible to a third serial port. It can also connect to an Ethernet 10Base T LAN.
Indicators: a front panel LED show the Compact Flash interface activity, other 2 side mounted LEDs indicated the power up status and Ethernet port activity.
Datalogger is also available in a bare board version named Datalogger-S that has the following technical characteristics:
Dimensions: 17 mm height, 131 mm depth, 95 mm width
Power supply: the standard version is powered with a DC voltage from 8 up to 36 V; it is also available a version with a standard hard or floppy disk connector with 5 V and 12 V supplies
Auxiliary connector: a DIN 41612 connector has all power supply , bus and I/O select signals available for extending the Datalogger with additional interface boards, easily customizable e.g. for thermocouple readout
